How to get to Banlung / Ratanakiri
Overland from Siem Reap – Kampong Thom – Kampong Cham – Kratie. Overland from Phnom Penh. Overland from Voeung Kam, Laos / Dom Kralor, Cambodia. Overland from Le Tanh, Gia Lai Province, Vietnam / O’Yadaw, Ratanakiri, Cambodia.

The Kachok minority and the vulcanic lake Yaklaom (full board)
Driving northwest, crossing bamboo forests before reaching the village of Voeune Saï located on the left bank of the Sé San river. On the other side of the river is a Chinese village. Going by boat upstream to Kaoh Peak, a village of the Kachok minority that practices funeral statuary. Retruning by boat to Voeune Saï. Continue by car to Yaklaom lake, a beautiful and perfectly-round stretch of water, surrounded by forest, for a late afternoon swim. Dinner & Night at Terres Rouges.
The Kroeung territory (full board)
Driving North, heading towards Laos and the village of Taveng. Crossing Veyrum Plang, a round lava field in the forest; a few steps away there is a small waterfall (in the rainy season only) surrounded by tigers caves. Later on, we stop at some nice Kroeung villages located in the forest on both sides of the road. Depending on the season, we might discover some quite impressive bachelor houses built on very high stilts. Driving back towards Banlung for a trip through rubber plantations towards the nearby waterfall of Teuk Cha Ong. Lunch picnic during the trip. Dinner & night at the Lodge.
Precious stone mines of Ba Kev (full board)
Driving towards Vietnam along National road 78. visit mining area of Ba Kev, a place drilled with hundreds of 60cm-wide 12m-deep wells. Continue to Ka Chanh waterfall. Visitors can shower and swim. Elephant trekking at Ou Katieng (60-90 min.). Return to Banlung City. Dinner & Night at Terres Rouges Lodge.
